Help and FAQ

Quick answers about buying and selling on Pruv.

How do I pay?

Open a product, choose Buy now, and complete the payment on the secure Paystack page. You never pay a seller directly.

Is my payment safe?

Yes. Payments run through Paystack, and Pruv never sees your card details. Your money is held until you confirm you got what you paid for.

When does the seller get paid?

After the buyer confirms the order. Our team then sends the seller's payout to the bank account saved in their account settings.

What if I do not get what I paid for?

Open the order and choose Report a problem. For a damaged or not-as-described item, add a photo and a few words about what is wrong. The payment stays on hold while our team looks at both sides. The seller can reply in the same place. We then either release the payment to the seller or refund you, and we tell you why.

What is the handover code?

For meetups and campus delivery, the buyer gets a 4-digit code on their order page after paying. Give it to the seller only when the item is in your hands and you are happy with it. The seller enters it to mark the order handed over. Never share it before you have the item. Pruv Delivery orders use a separate code that you give to the rider.

What if the buyer does not show up?

If a buyer does not turn up or cannot be reached, the seller can report a no-show on the order, from 12 hours after payment. The payment stays on hold, the buyer is asked to reply, and our team decides. Message the other person first and agree a new time.

Can a seller report a problem too?

Yes. If a buyer will not confirm or reply, or refuses an order after it was delivered, the seller can report a problem on the order and add photos. The buyer is asked to reply, and our team decides.

How long do I have to confirm an order?

After an order is delivered you have 3 days to confirm it or report a problem. If you do nothing, the payment is released to the seller automatically. We remind you the day before. If you gave the seller your handover code (see below), this is shortened to 1 day, because the code shows you had the item in your hands.

How do refunds work?

If we decide you should be refunded, the money goes back to your original payment method through Paystack. We can refund the full amount or part of it. Banks can take several business days to show it. When an order was already delivered by a Pruv Delivery rider, the delivery fee is usually not refunded because the delivery was done.

How does Pruv Delivery work?

Choose Pruv Delivery at checkout and pin where you want the order brought. A rider from the campus delivery partner collects it from the seller and brings it to you. You get a 4-digit code on your order page. Give it to the rider only when you have your order in your hands, because the delivery is completed with that code.

I am a delivery rider. How do I get paid?

Every delivery you complete adds your share of the fee to your Wallet. When you have enough, open Wallet and request a payout. Your delivery partner sends the money to the bank account saved in your Account, and you get a notification when it is paid.

I am a delivery partner. How do I get paid?

Pruv pays you the full delivery fee for every delivered order and takes nothing from it. You pay your riders their share when they request a payout. Add your riders, set their share and watch them live from your dashboard.

How much does it cost to sell?

Listing a product is free. We keep a 2% commission on the item price of each completed sale, and you receive the rest.

Are there fees for buyers?

Yes. Buyers pay a 2% service fee on the item price, plus the Paystack payment processing fee. Both appear as separate lines at checkout, so the total is clear before you pay.

How do I get paid as a seller?

Add your bank name, account number and account name under Account and payout details. Payouts are sent after each order is confirmed.

Can I buy from a seller at another campus?

Yes. Pruv is open to every campus. A product shows which campus it is sold from. If the seller is on your campus you can meet up or get campus delivery. If they are on a different campus, you can buy only when they offer delivery to other campuses, and you will see that option and its fee at checkout.

Does $app know which campus I am on?

Yes. You pick your school when you sign up, and you can change it under Account. At checkout we compare your campus with the seller's campus and show only the delivery options that really apply.

Can I choose where my order goes?

Yes. At checkout you choose the campus it is going to (your own campus by default), how you want to get it, and your hostel, room or meetup spot.

Who pays for delivery?

The buyer. Every seller sets their own delivery fee, and meetups are free. The fee is shown as its own line at checkout and added to your total, so you always know what you pay before you pay. The seller receives the delivery fee in full.

What if I want campus delivery but the seller is on another campus?

Campus delivery only works within one campus. For a seller on another campus you will see their delivery to other campuses option instead, if they offer it. If they do not, you cannot buy that item, but you can message them to ask, or browse products from your own campus.

Do I only see sellers from my campus?

No. Browsing shows every campus, with your own campus listed first. Use the campus filter to see only your campus, or to look at another one.

Can I meet the seller or buyer?

Yes. Once you have paid, use the built-in chat to agree details, and meet in public places on campus. Keep all payments on the platform.

What can I sell?

Products that you own or made yourself. See the Terms for what is not allowed.
